Raw Organic Greek Sidr Honey
Experience the thick, rich, and herbal sweetness of our Raw Organic Greek Sidr Honey, with delightful vanilla notes. Produced by bees that feed on the nectar of the Sidr tree during a short period in late spring, this honey is truly legendary.

What does "Active" mean?
Our honey undergoes a "Total Activity test" in a lab to measure its antimicrobial activity. This test evaluates the honey's ability to kill bacteria, specifically Staph Aureus, by applying a honey solution to a lab plate. The higher the bacteria-killing capacity, the higher the activity score. Typically, activity levels range from 10 to 25+, similar to the test used for grading Manuka Honey. The antibacterial power is primarily due to a bee enzyme that produces hydrogen peroxide in the honey. Keep in mind that the activity level is highest when freshly tested, but it decreases over time, especially when exposed to light and heat. To maintain its potency, store the honey in a dark, cool place.

Colour:
The honey has a strong burnt orange hue when liquid and transforms into a creamy, buttery yellow when crystallized.

Origin:
Sourced from the dense forests of Mount Belle in northern Greece, an ecosystem rich in flora and fauna. Mount Belle lies at the border of Northern Greece, Bulgaria, and Skopje.
